Course Descriptions - Functional​

Below are Advanced Training for Functional Users:

3.58 Features​

Length: 4 Hours

During this training you will learn how to build and implement many of the powerful new functions available in 3.58 (all without the need to involve tech!) Learn how to configure error messages, expand your data pool capabilities, populate grids, make custom drop-down value lists, dynamically change values that show in a drop-down or prompt, determine what navigation buttons show or hide.

Advanced eForm Configuration​

Length: 4 Hours

Extend your GT eForms configuration skills with this advanced training class that focuses on solutions for more complex business processes. This training covers our most popular features in greater depth and explores the design and decision making involved in configuring for more challenging situations. Topics include:

  • Creative workflow solutions

Advanced Workflow​

Length: 4 Hours

Ready to move beyond the delivered GT Basic approval routes, but not sure where to start? Join us for advanced training where we will cover:

  • Customizing processes and definition IDs in order to support complex workflow
  • Construct approval routes with multiple stages, dynamic or concurrent paths, and steps that behave exactly how you’ve always imagined—require all approvers instead of just one, for example
  • We’ll cover GT-specific content like Defined Rosters and visual if shims
  • Augmented Workflow solution template
  • You’ll also learn to leverage delivered PeopleSoft tools like push notifications, fluid approvals, and fluid delegation with your existing GT eForms.

Basic Configuration Refresher​

Length: 4 Hours

Need a quick reminder of the basics before jumping into an advanced topic? This is a quick class meant to cover the very basics in a condensed approach. It is not hands-on training. It will be an opportunity for you to observe the simple configuration of a generic award form. This session is designed with the objective for attendees to recognize GT eForms terminology, understand how to configure a low-complexity form, and understand how to validate form configuration through testing. This session is meant to be a refresher class for those who have already attended an eForm Config Training class.

BI Publisher: The Basics and Beyond​

Length: 4 Hours

This course will teach you the basics of how to use BI Publisher reports to create a simple print report for a generic award form, including:

  • Installing the BI Publisher extension
  • Walkthrough of configuring a rich text file using fields from a form
  • PeopleSoft Report Configuration Steps
  • Print Report setup on GT Form Setup Page
  • Advanced BI Publisher options such as inserting grid data, conditional formatting and expressions for converting visual ifs. 

But wait, there’s more! We will discuss some creative examples from the GT Form Resource Library where clients have leveraged BI Publisher beyond print reports of the form to create items such as job offer letters, employee memos, and student enrollment verification letters.

Note: Attendees will need to have a desktop version of MS Word on a PC (no Mac) with the BI Publisher Extension installed if they would like to be hands-on for the report-building portion of this class.

Campus Solutions & GT eForms​

Length: 4 Hours

Did you know Campus Solutions has unique functionality that can also be used with eForms? Learn how to extend delivered records with new fields and leverage those fields within your forms (and throughout PeopleSoft) to control workflow and other form logic. No development required! Wouldn't it be nice for approvers to get a consolidated list of forms needing their approval when they've been pending for too long? 3Cs to the rescue! Need a better understanding of the datapool and where to find the records you need in CS? This is your training!

  • Learn how to configure Common Attribute Framework (CAF) for use throughout your system...including eForms
  • Leverage 3Cs to send automated reminders to internal users
  • Become a datapool pro: find the data you need and make it work in your forms

Configurable Component Interface for GT eForms​

Length: 4 Hours

Do your forms require manual data entry to update PeopleSoft, or do you rely on a developer to create a component interface for your form? Wouldn't it be great if a functional user could build a component interface without needing App Designer or be an expert in PeopleCode? Now you can! GT's Configurable CI tool gives functional eForm users the ability to build out component updates through configuration.

Training Workshop features:

  • Learn what a component interface is
  • Learn how understanding a component can lead you to better form design
  • Work hands-on with the configurable CI tool to push GT eForm data into PeopleSoft records.

Form Design and Configuration Workshop (NEW!)​

Length: 4 Hours

Have you ever had to create a new form and wished you had a GT consultant to help you jump start building the form? Maybe you have a form that is already started but would like additional feedback on building a SEEFful (Simple, Effective, Efficient, Flexible) form. This training workshop might be the perfect fit for your needs.

Training Workshop features: 

  • 1-day (6 hours) dedicated session for your organization
  • Led by an experienced GT Business Analyst
  • Build forms in your environment
  • Work on one form or discuss several including:
    • Form design / strategy
    • Building a form from scratch
    • Enhancements to existing forms
    • Integrating new helium features to reduce the need for code
How does this differ from mentoring?

Mentoring involves on-going sessions over a period of time. It may have named resources or ad hoc resources depending on the mentoring approach selected. This workshop is a one-time session, similar to the workshop session of Intro to GT eForms Training, that can be followed up with additional mentoring sessions as needed. GT Robot​

Length: 2 Hours

Do you have forms stuck and waiting for approval until some other process occurs? Maybe you have forms that can’t be executed until a certain date or other criteria is met?

Introducing the GT Robot! Affectionately nicknamed “Rosie”, the GT Robot allows you to route to a robot account that is smart enough to hold forms and only take action on them once the criteria you define is met. No more letting forms pile up in an approver’s queue while they wait for some other event to occur before mass-approving their forms. No more time wasted while the approver checks the same forms every day until they are ready to move on. Let Rosie do all that for you automatically!

This training delivers hands-on experience configuring the GT Robot and workflow that takes advantage of this awesome feature.

This course provides hands-on training in the development and deployment of custom OpenSearch Dashboards from start to finish.  Learn how to create robust, actionable insights using completely functional tools. By the end of the training, you will have the tools and knowledge that will allow you to:
