Service Pack Highlights​

Improved Form Build Performance​

We’ve made significant strides in optimizing form build times. One large client eForm that previously required 7 hours to build now completes in just 3 minutes—a 99% improvement. While results will vary based on form complexity, we anticipate most will experience faster builds, helping improve efficiency in building and testing eForms.

Enhanced Versioning Logic​

We have refined versioning logic for GT generated PeopleTools objects like multi-field prompt and query record definitions. This improvement is designed to proactively address potential data integrity issues that may arise. This enhancement ensures greater accuracy and reliability and reflects our commitment to delivering a robust and dependable framework.

Standard to Helium Conversion Enhancements​

We’re introducing a new Standard Form Data Converter, a tool designed to safely and efficiently transition your form transactions from the Standard (XML-based) engine to the Helium (JSON-based) engine. This tool addresses critical data loss risks and usability issues that previously made the conversion process challenging.

Key highlights include:

  • Standalone Conversion Tool: This standalone utility enables both bulk conversions and single transaction conversions with ease, ensuring seamless adoption of Helium for your existing data.
  • Admin Tool Conversion: The Conversion Tool is now built into the Form Admin Tool, allowing you to quickly convert an individual transaction before taking action on it.
  • Safety and Reliability: All converted transactions are securely backed up, providing an option for reversion if needed, giving you confidence and peace of mind in the transition.
  • Streamlined Synchronization: Improvements to the Query Record process simplify handling “Out of Sync” scenarios, ensuring consistency and data integrity after conversion.

This new tool empowers you to upgrade to Helium Performance confidently, with enhanced stability and efficiency.

Planning to Apply the Service Pack​

This release must be applied on top of version 3.58.00. If you’re on an earlier release, you’ll need to upgrade to 3.58.00 first. The upgrade package and instructions are available in the Online GT Library > Documents > Framework Updates > 3.x > R3.58.04.
